The 1988 911 Clubsport was produced
as a lightweight edition, limited to around 300 units. It came ready for
racing, yet was still street legal. Stripped out were fog lights, A/C,
power seats, back seats, undercoating, and sound proofing. Added were stiffer
shocks, spoilers, sport seats, hollow stem valves, and a reprogrammed chip.
After the smoke cleared, it ended up retailing for the same price as the
normal Carrera.
