WELCOME

Porsches in Shenandoah Valley The Shenandoah Region of the Porsche Club of America (PCA) is dedicated to enjoying Porsche cars in central Virginia. While Porsches are the common element, our members provide the club with variety and enthusiasm. We organize scenic driving tours, run six autocrosses each year, and take part in high-performance driver's education (DE) events at the Virginia International Raceway and other tracks. Our premier event is the Richmond Porsche Meet (RPM), a June weekend including a concours, lunch, driving tour, tech session, banquet, and an autocross at the Southside Speedway. We also hold a Christmas party and several other social meetings annually.

Nonmembers are welcome to participate in a social meeting, a driving tour, or an autocross. Learn more about the Shenandoah Region PCA and our upcoming events, the PCA Zone 2 comprising 10 nearby regions, the national PCA, and how to JOIN PCA.

Shenandoah's 20th Annual Richmond Porsche Meet (RPM):

Save the dates! Join the Shenandoah Region for the 20th anniversary celebration of our Richmond Porsche Meet (RPM) on June 3 – 5 near historic Richmond, Virginia. Many thanks to Alex Smith who created Shenandoah's signature event and hosted it for 19 years!

We'll start off the weekend on Friday with a visit to Euroclassics Porsche and a social and dinner at nearby Stonehenge Golf and Country Club.

Our home base this year for lodging and Saturday's activities will be the lovely Wyndham Virginia Crossings Hotel and Conference Center. We'll host a tops-only concours and people's choice car show in the courtyard and surrounding areas of the comfortable Colonial-style campus. Our "Café Carrera" will be a grab-and-go lunch buffet that will be served onsite in The Tavern. In the afternoon, we'll go out for a gimmick rally/fun run on scenic back roads and end up at one of Richmond's well-known destinations. We'll return to Virginia Crossings and top off the day with an awards banquet and talk by a special guest speaker.

To satisfy folks who seek an adrenaline rush, we'll conclude our RPM weekend on Sunday with a heart-pumping autocross. All Porsche enthusiasts are welcome!

Continue to check here more details as they become available. Questions? Contact Sherry Westfall at (434) 295-3955/249-2877 (cell) or vscapes@cstone.net.

Potomac Region's 2016 DEs and HPDCs:

The PCA Potomac Founders' Region will open up all of its 2016 DE events for registration on January 31. To see the list of events and to register via MotorsportReg.com, click here. Particularly popular is their Labor Day Weekend (September 2–4) DE at VIR.

This list also includes two High Performance Driving Clinics (HPDCs) on March 13 and September 10. HPDC can be the single best day you'll have in your car, with emphasis on awareness and car control in a safely controlled environment and with an instructor in the car. HPDCs are for students who have zero or little performance driving experience (DE, HPDC, PDX, autocross, competition drag racing, etc.). Because HPDC is one way to qualify to drive in Potomac DE events, those with ZERO performance driving experience will be given preference. Sign up early. Their HPDCs usually sell out more than a month in advance and have long wait lists.

Are you new to DE and on the fence about whether Driver's Education is for you? Sign up for their Intro to HPDE available during all three HPDEs listed above. For a $50 fee, they will get you out on the track in your car with an instructor for a single session mid-day on Saturday. Standard DE safety requirements apply, so you will need as a minimum a Snell SA 2010 rated helmet. FSR has a few loaners available, so please email the registrar before you sign up if you'd like to borrow one. FSR welcomes the BMWCCA and other car clubs to their "Intro to HPDE" event. Register using the MotorsportReg.com links above.
