April 2005 Carrera Classic

It’s that time of year again when we can realistically think about that annual event at Gateway International Raceway that gets so many of our motors going. The Carrera Classic weekend is April 8-10, 2005 with the option of an additional day of driving on April 8th for advanced drivers.  Bring your family and friends, we have something for everyone.

Driver education students will learn and practice the techniques of high performance driving on the 1.6 mile road course at Gateway International Raceway that includes a fast infield section and more than half of the banked oval of this motorsports complex. This is our most popular event so send in your application as soon as possible.

For those who would like to learn the fundamentals and feel of high speed driving without actually driving, we will again offer the “High Performance Experience”(limited to 12 participants).  Attend classroom education sessions, view the course from a corner worker’s station and ride on the track with an instructor.  Participants must be 18 years of age or older.

And finally, lunchtime charity laps will be done each day.  For a small donation, anyone with a valid driver’s license may drive passengers around the road course at moderate speeds. Charity lap passengers who are minors need to have their legal guardian sign a waiver form.

You will find a Carrera Classic driver's application form in the coming issue of Die Plauderei or in the forms section below.  Please make sure to read the disclaimer as this is not a racing school.  All driving participants are requested to have their vehicles inspected to be sure they are track-worthy.  Reid Vann will provide complementary technical inspections on March 22 and 23, please contact them for an appointment.
